I have been shopping at the Woodfield Mall for many years and in recent years have noticed your store however, I never went in. Last evening when I was shopping for Christmas gifts and just thought I would wander in to see what they had as I looking for jewelry items and wanted to purchase something out of the ordinary. I was greeted by the staff and they asked if I needed help finding something. I said no, I was just looking. They said ok, let us know if we can help. After looking around and really liking what I saw, I asked one of the ladies for assistance. She was so helpful and courteous. She helped me pick out 2 very lovely gifts in my price range. Her name was Mena Giovenco and she could not have been nicer to work with during my shopping experience. Her and another associate gift wrapped my items which I thought was cool, team work!
I have to say, I generally don't take the time to comment on my shopping experiences but I was so pleasantly surprised by the overall appearance of your store, the variety of items available in all price ranges and the awesome staff! The clasp on my watch broke and I was dreading the headaches I anticipated being generated as I dealt with a manufacturer that was so far from me. Instead of headaches, the experience was the model of what true customer service should be. Emails were responded to quickly and professionally. The work was done as needed and the watch returned much faster than I anticipated. Hello! I just wanted to let you know how happy my wife and I are with her gift from Na Hoku. (She and I exchange gifts on Xmas Eve...a little earlier in the day every year!) I was extremely happy with the entire process of browsing on your website, ordering, receiving, and opening the gift. The gift wrapping was tasteful and lovely, and the packaging was elegant. And of course the pendant itself was wonderful. I have only one small piece of constructive criticism -- the branded ribbon on the gift wrapping made it impossible for me to place the box under the tree. A non-branded ribbon would have been more practical. However, that is a very minor thing -- I am an extremely happy customer, and wanted to let you all know.
Just wanted to tell you that I visited your Ala Moana Store today and was helped by Chris Kawamura. She is a wonderful, knowledgable and fun woman that is an asset to your company. I have several pieces of NaHoku Jewelry already and her professionalism and easy going personality solidified my decision to go back for a purchase of my own.( My husband purchases all of my NaHoku jewelry in the past..and hopefully in the future!) I just wanted to write about an experience I had at the Na Hoku Ala Moana store. I was helped by Rick Schmidt, the store manager, after I had an issue with one of the earring I bought. The level of customer service I received was better than any customer service I have ever experienced elsewhere. He was realistic and honest about my situation and simply did his best to help me. I was hoping for a good outcome, I had spent quite a bit of money at Na Hoku and have a number of items still on my wish list. I am so glad to know that my favorite jewelry store also has excellent customer service and great employees. Thank you so much and thank you Rick!
I recently walked into the Waikiki Beach Walk store to buy my daughter a bracelet for her birthday, planning on spending something under $45 I hoped. Long story short, my husband walked in, we got to talking to Yuko Ishikawa, and I walked out with a beautiful ring for our 20th anniversary! I am not sure which is more special, my ring or the wonderful visit and service we got from Yuko. She is so caring, very informative, willing to work within our means, not pushy, just lovable! After having it sized, it came back too large, they made a point of getting it done on a "special rush", and we picked it up later that night. If we had not left the island, I would have gone back again, just to visit with Yuko and buy something else. PS: I love my ring....thank you Yuko. Na Hoku has beautiful and very affordable items.
My girlfriend and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary, and on this special day she surprised me with one of your stunning watches that caught my eye a few days earlier when we walked past your store in Denver, Colorado. I have to say, its one of the most luxurious timepieces I have ever had. We love Hawaii and the fact that you guys are based there adds to the specialness of the gift. The quality is top notch! I also wanted to let you know that the company's decision to stop selling coral is an honorable one and I think its great that a company can look past profit to do what is right for the environment. Your expeditious and detailed response to my email evidences the fact that Na Hoku not only produces excellent products it also has excellent customer service.
My husband and I just returned from a two week trip to Maui. We have bought several pieces of Na Hoku jewelry over the past years. This year when we walked into the Whaler's Village store we were promptly greeted by your Assistant Manager, Lindsey Johnston, who remembered me from the previous year. She helped with an issue I had with my Nalani ring, which, with the assistance of your District Manager, Gina. The issue was resolved and I was able to upgrade my ring to the new style with a larger diamond. I absolutely love it! We then went back and purchased a multi-colored sapphire pendant (featured in Hawaiian Airlines inflight magazine) and another pendant that was a little whale. Lindsey is so professional, friendly, warm, and I hope she is there next year when we return. She is a hard worker! I wore my ring and sapphire necklace today to work and received several compliments. I wanted to bring this to your attention as it seems in so many businesses the comments are negative-this is quite the opposite. What really sticks in my mind is that Lindsey remembered me from a year ago - we live in Michigan and I know she sees hundreds of people in her line of work. Lindsey deserves to be commended for her customer service skills. When I look at my Na Hoku pieces I always have great memories of all our trips to Hawaii and Lindsey for assisting us. P.S. - I think that I first shopped with your company when I was in King of Prussia, PA several years ago. I got the email and phoned in to inquire about the special order process, sadly we will not be able to get either ring while we are on the Big Isle of Hawaii as we have missed the cut off date for having the rings to the store by Jan 1, 2014. So the girl was very helpful and we will go into the store when we arrive on the isle Dec 21, 2013 and put in our order and have our fingers sized also!! The closest physical Na Hoku store is in Northpark Mall in Dallas; that is about a 4-hour drive for me. Therefore, their web presence and customer service is essential in not only gaining me, but also for retaining me, as a customer. Na Hoku has far exceeded my expectations. I came upon them quite on a lark. Jewelry is my weakness, so whenever I see jewelry advertised, I LOOK. I saw an advertisement for their Hawaiian Slipper in the WSJ a while back and noticed it immediately. While I'm not to jump at any ad I see, I did my research and then took the plunge: I ordered that necklace I saw; I later learned a few things about Na Hoku and subsequently ordered other items.
Selection: Na Hoku is, essentially, themed jewelry. It's beach and island-themed, but in an extraordinarily tasteful and elegant way. Classy designs that are varied and unique, from the beach to palm trees to turtles to elegantly-set pearls and many things in between. It is neither flashy nor opulent; rather, it is understated elegance. Also, Na Hoku offers many styles set in rose gold, which few jewelers offer.
Construction: Stones are well seated and carriers on a pendant are thick enough to support and withstand years of wear and friction from a chain. Chains are well soldered so as not to break between links (even when pulled). Post earrings have a strong supportive post with an adequately-sized butterfly back that is appropriate for the size of the earring to avoid shifting. Gold is solid and not hollow.
Delivery: Ordered items are insured and sent via FedEx; you must sign for the package when it arrives, but there is no distinctive marking on the box that it's come from Na Hoku. Apparently this is done for gift-giving reasons. Delivery was quick and on time.
Customer service: A big shout-out to their customer service department, because Na Hoku really knows how to take care of its customers in this area. When the clasp broke on my necklace and I had great difficulty getting any local jeweler to replace it (at ANY cost) because it was rose gold, I finally broke down and called Na Hoku for help. Aghast, they immediately asked me to return the chain only to them (without the pendant attached) where they would put a lobster-clasp closure on it for free, refund my shipping to them and ship it back out to me FOR FREE.
I've ordered several pieces from Na Hoku via the web. Each time has been a wonderful experience, and each time I'm extremely pleased with my new adornment. Their line has expanded recently to include a wider selection of items; I'm certain their quality is the same. I only wish they would open a store in the Houston, TX, area so I could see it all with my own eyes before I ordered (well, maybe that wouldn't be such a good thing, as I'd likely spend my entire paycheck there). No matter, Na Hoku is bookmarked as one of my shopping FAVORITES. I visit there often virtually, despite my desire that it could be physical instead. It's a delightful shopping experience nonetheless.
I just want to let you know that my engagement ring and wedding ring are exquisitely beautiful. I think they are prettier than shown on your website. Even though the wedding isn't until next June, I'm having SO much fun showing off my precious engagement ring. Thank you again for your excellent workmanship.

I LOVE that you support the environment and choose NOT to sell coral designs in your store. Though many may not have time to appreciate or remark on your thoughtful and ethical decision, you ARE doing the right thing!
